Incoterms:

Incoterms for INternational COmmercial TERMS are used to establish the duties of sellers and buyers during international commercial contracts. Currently, the 2010 Incoterms are in force. 11 incoterms are grouped under this name. These costs fall into two categories:

1. Incoterms applying to all modes of transport:

  • EXW (EX Works) or “at the factory”
  • FCA (Free Carrier) or “Franco transporter”
  • CPT (Carriage paid to) or “Carriage paid up to”
  • CIP (Carriage and insurance paid to) or “Postage paid and insurance up to”
  • DAT (Delivered at terminal) or “Rendu au terminal“
  • DAP (Delivered at place) or “Delivered at the agreed place of destination”
  • DAP (Delivered at place) or “Delivered at the agreed place of destination”

2. Incoterms applying to maritime and river transport:

  • FAS (Free alongside ship) or “Franco le long du navire”
  • FOB Free on board
  • CFR (Cost and freight) or “Coût et Fret”

The different types of pallets:

The pallet is an essential handling element for logistics. It is used during transport, storage but also during the packaging of goods.

Given the variability of palletizable goods, there are many variants of pallets that have been created to adapt this tray to the characteristics of goods and transport:

1. Block Pallets

Block pallets are strong and robust. They use beams placed in parallel and perpendicularly. There are 4 to 12 blocks of solid wood or plywood supporting the upper deck, as well as 4 entry points. Which makes them easy to maneuver

2.Pallets with two entries

These are herringbone pallets which allow the handling forks to pass only on two opposite sides of the pallet.

3. Four-entry pallets

These are diced or notched chevron pallets which allow the passage of the handling forks on the four sides of the pallet.

1. DRY containers

"Dry" means that these containers are made to transport non-liquid resources. These are the most common containers in maritime transport, their main dimensions are Dry 20 '/ 40'.

The "Flat Rack" which literally means "Flat Shelf" also known as drop-off containers, is a container that has no ceiling and removable sides to allow the loading of bulky goods.

3. Open Top containers:

The Open top container is similar to the Dry container in terms of its dimensions, the difference being that it opens through the roof. Therefore, it allows to load goods using a crane when they are too wide to pass through the doors of a conventional Dry container.
